Can I use my letting agent's PDF statements for MTD?
By the VoxaMTD team. Last verified 4 November 2026
Yes, as the source of your figures, but the PDF alone is not your digital record. GOV.UK says that if you only know your income after expenses, you ask for the full amount, record that as income and record the expenses separately.
In practice, take the rent, the agent's fee and each repair from the statement and put them in your software or spreadsheet as separate lines. Keep the PDF too, because GOV.UK says you still need the original records or copies you used.
You do not need a bank feed for this. VoxaMTD takes a CSV or Excel upload, and its free plan covers quarterly updates for up to 2 tenancies, though it does not do the year-end step.
If you would rather keep a spreadsheet, bridging software sends the totals. TaxCalc's MTD Quarterly Filer is from £24 a year and Coconut's MTD Bridging is £49.99 a year, as read on their own sites on 4 November 2026. Read what bridging software is.
