What it does

• Shows the next MTD quarterly update deadline (7 August, 7 November, 7 February or 7 May), the next Self Assessment deadline (31 January) and the next MTD start date for a lower income threshold.
• Counts the days in UK time and updates itself, so it never goes out of date.
• No cookies, no tracking and no data collected. The script is served from voxamtd.com, like any file a page loads; once loaded it makes no further requests, it reads the date and writes plain HTML.
• Light by default. Add data-theme="dark" to the div for dark backgrounds.
• Free to use. Please keep the credit link inside the div.

Where the dates come from

Quarterly update deadlines, the Self Assessment deadline and the MTD start dates are from GOV.UK: Send quarterly updates and Check if you're eligible for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. If HMRC changes them, we update the script and every copy of the widget changes with it.
